The best thing this place has going for it is its location - right on Ocean Ave in Spring Lake. Other than that it's your basic hotel and it's actually a little old fashioned and run down. I had some trouble with my room key as well, I had to go back down to the front desk because my key wouldn't open the door. The parking is limited and they have a strange policy to book your room. You have to mail them a personal check or they won't reserve your room. I've never heard of that before. Great location in a great town but everything else is just sort of "ehh".
As a restaurant: food was delicious, everyone in our party was very happy with their meal and the service.
The Breakers made our Wedding reception one which my wife and I along with our guest will remember for years to come. The service and value was exceptional. Our guest could not get over how great the food and venue was. Thank you Larry and your staff for all you did to make our Wedding day so memorable.
As a hotel: beds were so comfortable, room was clean, staff was extremely attentive.
An overall good experience. The staff was helpful and curteous. The rates were reasonable and it was very convenient having a restaurant there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The room was very nice with a beautiful view. I would stay there again. They also have entertainment there.
After many vacations and a wedding at this location, my husband and I were treated so rudely by the owner in which he wouldn’t even look at us when we tried to talk to him. His staff is wonderful-but he is an arrogant and rude man who does not appreciate his patrons who have spent an enormous amount of $ at his establishment. We had planned on purchasing many certificates for our friends and family for Christmas who were impressed with the location-but now will never spend a dime to support this man.
As a wedding venue: impeccable, never heard so many people say what a perfect job they did and that it was "the best wedding they've ever been to". Service was absolutely fantastic, food was wonderful, staff were so helpful and friendly, event coordinator Terri went above and beyond.
